Mrs. Betty Catherine Hoffman, 78, of Frederick, died Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at Somerford Assisted Living, Frederick.

Born November 16, 1933 in Frederick County, she was the daughter of the late William and Ethel M. Morgan. She was the wife of Paul M. Hoffman who died in 2008.

Mrs. Hoffman was a member of Marvin Chapel United Methodist Church. She and her husband were dairy farmers until 1971 and Mrs. Hoffman then worked at Raven Wood Greenhouses for 10 years. She enjoyed flower gardening and cooking.

Surviving are two sons, Wayne E. Hoffman and wife Daphne, near Libertytown and Michael A. Hoffman and wife Kathy of Emmitsburg; six grandchildren, Andrew, Denton and Riley Hoffman, Brooke Ridinger and husband Jason, Bradley and Bridget Hoffman; a great-grandson, Paul Robert Hoffman; two brothers, Harvey Morgan of Frederick and Raymond Morgan of Woodsboro and stepbrother, Raymond Ford.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 8 at Hartzler Funeral Home, 11802 Liberty Rd., Libertytown, with her pastor, Rev. Earl Mason, officiating. Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday, July 7.
