Hazel Yoe Orbe, longtime Elko resident, passed away at Elko General Hospital at the age of 86. She was born to Harry and Frances Moore Yoe. She and her family moved to Elko, NV in 1913 and she attended schools there. She lived in San Francisco for a time with her aunt, Hazel Phipps, while attending beauty school. She returned to Elko and later went to work for the Western Pacific Railroad during the war years.
She married Albert Orbe on July 2, 1945 in Winnemucca, NV. She went to work for the local telephone company in Elko and retired after 27 hears of service. She continued to live in Elko until the time of her death. She is survived by her husband, Albert of Elko; and a niece and nephew, Carol and Richard Sorensen of Salt Lake City; She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Mary Owen and a brother, Billy Yoe.
