March 3, 1938 - July 4, 2012 Larry Dean Bartee, 74, of Osage City, KS, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. Larry was born on March 3, 1938 near Olivet, KS, the son of Charles (Chick) and Martha Bartee.

He graduated from Lebo High School in 1956. Larry joined the Army Reserves in 1956 and retired with 30 years of service in 1986. He worked for Woodbury Farms, Kramer Ford Tractor, Jones Dairy, worked in heavy mobile equipment repair for the U.S. Government Department of Defense in Topeka, ESC in Fort Riley, KS, and Miller Elevator, Admire, KS, part-time after retiring from his Civil Service job in 2000.

Larry was a member of the Sunflower Steppers and NARFE (National Association of Retired Federal Employees).

Larry married Romona (Kennard) Bartee on July 17, 1959, in Hall Summit, KS. The couple would have celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on July 17, 2012.

Larry is survived by his wife, Romona Bartee, Osage City, KS, a son, Mike Bartee, Osage City, daughter Janet (Marc) McFarland, Osage City, five grandchildren, Kelsey (Craig) Menke, Neosho Rapids, KS, Tanner Bartee, Ft. Benning, GA, Megan McFarland, Bonner Springs, KS, Tyler Bartee, and Jacob McFarland, Osage City, and one great grandchild Carson Menke, Neosho Rapids, KS. He is also survived by a sister, Judy Kohman, Salina, KS.

He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Dena (Carson) Bartee, mother and father (Martha & Chick), step dad, Lucian Hammond, brother, Charles Bartee, and sister Lois Nadine Bartee.

The funeral will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at the First Presbyterian Church in Osage City, KS. The burial will be in Osage City, KS. Visitation will be from 6:00 7:30 PM, Monday, July 9, 2012 at the First Presbyterian Church in Osage City. Memorial contributions in his memory will be made at a later date.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at the First Presbyterian Church in Osage City.

Burial will follow services at Osage City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 7:30 p.m. Monday evening at the church.
