Pamela Lynn Westbrook, age 61, of Port Huron passed away unexpectedly of natural causes in her home on July 3, 2012. She was born May 1, 1951 in Port Huron to Charles and Laurel Dunkel.

She graduated from Port Huron Schools, St. Clair County Community College, and Michigan State University.

On August 26, 1972 Pam married Gary L. Westbrook in Port Huron. She met Gary at the Dome. Together they earned their bachelor degrees while attending MSU, and then headed to Illinois for a few years for employment.

Pam worked briefly as a social worker at a juvenile facility there. She also worked as a substitute teacher, and spent many of her years as a stay at home mom.

Pam enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and especially her grandchildren, Cooper and Brooke. In her earlier years, she enjoyed waterskiing and boating on Lake Huron and the St. Clair River. Pam also had fun shopping and decorating her home.

She is survived by:
…her daughter, Lori A. (Robb) Westbrook-Smalldon of Kalamazoo;
…her brother, Daniel C. (Jill) Dunkel of Lakeport;
…her grandchildren, Cooper R. and Brooke T. Smalldon, both of Kalamazoo;
…her former husband, Gary L. Westbrook, and
…several nieces and nephews.

Pam was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Laurel Dunkel.

Visitation will be today, Thursday, July 5, 2012, from 6-8 p.m. in the Smith Family Funeral Home - North, and on Friday, July 6, 2012, beginning at 12 noon in the funeral home.

A funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2012, in the Smith Family Funeral Home - North, 1525 Hancock Street with The Rev. Max Amstutz officiating.

A graveside committal service will follow in Hillside Cemetery in St. Clair.

Memorials may be made at the discretion of the donor.
