Clifton McCree, who had been dismissed from his city job of cleaning beaches opened fire on his former colleagues early this morning, killing five of them and critically injuring another before turning the gun on himself. He had worked for the City Parks Department for 18 years. He returned to the office trailer 14 months after his discharge and shot the employees as they gathered to pick up their assignments.

Those killed were Joseph Belotto, Mark Bretz, Kenneth Brunjes, Joseph Clifford and Donald Moon. Lelan Brookins was the only survivor.

Kenneth A. Brunjes, of Pompano Beach, FL died February 9, 1996.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jenny; sons, Kris, Craig and Todd; and numerous friends.

He was born in Rochester, NY on September 29, 1949.

He had been a FL resident for the past 15 years. He worked for the City of Ft. Lauderdale Parks and Recreation Dept.
