Roosevelt J. LaBorde Sr., a retired pipefitter, died Thursday at East Jefferson General Hospital after a brief illness. He was 82, Mr. LaBorde was born in Echo, La., and lived in Metairie for 20 years. He worked as a pipeiftter for 37 years until his retirement in 1967. He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and was a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Augusta Pellegrin LaBorde; three sons, Nathan, Irwin L. and R.J. LaBorde Jr.; two daughters, Theresa Rosiere and Louisa Nunez; 18 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lamana-Panno-Fallo Funeral Home, 1717 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery No. 3.
