Albert Sidney Lyle was working with his brothers in their father Jefferson Young Lyle's blacksmith and carriage shop in Birmingham, Alabama until 1890. His sisters remained with their mother in Amory, Mississippi; then his father opened a blacksmith and carriage shop in Chattanooga, bought a home and moved the whole family there. Albert married Mary Geneva Fox March 27, 1895 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. There they had sons Edgar Earl Lyle 28 Dec 1895, Robert Francis Lyle 9 Sep 1898, Albert Sidney Lyle Jr. 14 Sep 1901 and Lynwood Vinson Lyle 21 Aug 1904. Albert Lyle continued to work as a blacksmith, and in 1920 the family moved north to the iron foundry industry in Rockwood, Roane County Tennessee. His sons joined him working in a machine shop. By 1930 they were back in Birmingham, Alabama and except for son Robert F. Lyle, the sons and their father continued machining and wood patterns and worked in Jefferson Auto Body Building Shop.
