Ralph Canseco, 78, of Independence, MO passed away Wednesday, July 04, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 P.M. Monday July 9, 2012 at St. Mark's Catholic Church 3736 S. Lee's Summit Road Independence, MO 64055, with Fr. James Taranto as Celebrant. Private family burial of cremated remains will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Blue Ridge at a later date. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the Mass from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the church. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Mark's Catholic Church or Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care "Green Team" in Independence and may be left in care of the funeral home. Ralph was born January 9, 1934 in Kansas City, MO the son of Daniel and Eufrasia (Aquilar) Canseco. He held several jobs in his lifetime from being a surveyor for Union Pacific; working on highway I-70 when it was first being built, to Wilson Packing House and Perez Foods. Ralph retired from Thomas J. Lipton, Inc. in 2004 after 20 years. He was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church. He enjoyed music particularly Jazz, which inspired his family to be involved in music. Other interest includes recording movies and music, building tent city, flying and traveling. Ralph was especially proud of his little village "Family."
Ralph married Teresa Perez on October 14, 1952 in Harrison, AK, 59 years of marriage. She survives of the home. Additional survivors include seven children; Linda Martin, Westminster, CO, Ralph "Junior" Canseco, Denver, CO, Ronald (Janet) Canseco, Parkville, MO, Gary (Treasure) Canseco, Grain Valley, MO, Gregory Canseco, Independence, MO, Veronica (Steve) Andrews, Wichita, KS, Mitchell Canseco, Lee's Summit, MO, one brother; Richard Canseco, two sisters; Lydia Ewing and Lila Smith. Ten grandchildren; Sean Martin, Dominic Martin, Nicole Wicks, Loralie Bongiorno, Raquel Spangler, Sara Becker, Risa Canseco, Brett Andrews, Alyssa Lechner, Gregory M. Canseco, and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Daniel Canseco, Joe Canseco and two sisters; Dolores Cramer and Mary Louise Mendoza.
