Owen A. Kearns, 83, of Riverside, Calif., died of a heart ailment Jan. 26 at Riverside Convalescent Hospital.
He was born in Guyman, Okla., was a former resident of Nevada and was a caretaker for the Animal Disease Loboratory in Ames for 32 years.
Survivors include three sons, Donald of Ozark, Mo., Dwayne of Oceanside, Calif., and Norris of Riverside, Calif.; one daugher, Juhl Prater of Riverside, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Emily Davis.
Visitation will be held Jan. 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada. Services will be held Jan. 26 at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Charles G. Dye officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Nevada.
