Contributor 47348938 contacted me a second time. I am not changing the spelling even though you believe the spelling is in error. A quick search shows that an 1870s census shows it as Blackmer. There are additional census info when Charles was younger...name is "Blackmer". Additionally, a death record for Lottie Moon listed her father as Charles Blackmer.
I listed the alternate in the Bio Info. I will not change it. This is what the marker says. A quick search seems to show that is what they went by. I can care less what other relatives went by. (I myself have a family of like 6 in the mid-1800s that chose to spell their name 3 different ways. A different relative spelled her last name one way when she was younger and different when older. )
If you have documentation that shows it was different (like a death certificate), please feel free to attach to the memorial.
