Maxine R. Day, 91, of Lake City, died Friday, July 20, 2001, at the Lake City Nursing Home-Mayo Health System.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Mahn Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel, Lake City, with burial at 3 p.m. in at the Glenwood Cemetery in Mankato.

Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home.

She is survived by a son, Fred and wife Karen Day of Lake City; three grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and one sister, Marion Schneider.

She was born May 24, 1910, in Denver, Colo., to Helmuth and Mae (Fields) Seewald. The family later moved to St. Clair, Minn. She graduated from St. Clair High School and attended Mankato Business College.

She married Allyn H. Day on March 6, 1937, in St. Clair. After their marriage they lived in many different towns in the Midwest due to Allyn's job with the railroad.

Allyn died in October 1987, and Maxine moved to Lake City in August 2000. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in New Ulm.
