Raymond F. Barta

Raymond F. Barta, 74, formerly of Oakfield, and of 524 Water St., Chilton, died Saturday, May 7, 2005, at Calumet Medical Center, Chilton.

He was born on April 21, 1931, in Mishicot, the son of Frank and Anna Hanek Barta. On Sept. 30, 1950, he married Betty Lila Gerner at Holy Trinity Church, Jericho. After his marriage, he resided in Kewaunee, where he worked for Dworak Motors and drove school bus. In 1968, they moved to Oakfield, where he was employed with Mercury Marine, retiring after 23 years. After retirement, he moved to the Wausaukee area in 1990 and later to Chilton.

Ray enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at his cabin up north. He enjoyed helping people, and for the past three years, he enjoyed visiting with people and riding on his scooter around town.

Survivors include

his wife,
*Betty Lila (Gerner) Barta of Chilton;

five children,
*Daniel (Luana) Barta of Fond du Lac,
*David (Sharon) Barta of Rosendale,
*Donald (Darlene) Barta of Chilton,
*Donna (Rick) Kloehn of New Holstein and
*Debra (David) Resler of Sturgeon Bay;

12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and

three sisters,
*Eleanor (George) Demell of Whitelaw,
*Helen (Gerald) Berg of Kewaunee and
*Delores (Zimmie) Zimmerhakel of Mishicot.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Anna Barta; and his stepfather, Anton Dobek.
