Lucille Engeldinger, age 90, of 632 Sand Lane, Mishicot, entered into eternal life on Thursday, April 21, 2011, at the Hamilton Care Center in Two Rivers.
Lucille was born on March 24, 1921, in Mishicot, to the late Thomas and Anna (Dushek) Kakes, and was a lifelong area resident. She married Ralph J. Engeldinger July 7, 1943, at St. Mary's Nativity of the BVM Catholic Church in Tisch Mills. He preceded her in death Aug. 4, 1993. She and her husband farmed in the town of Mishicot for many years and also helped other farmers farm in Kewaunee, Algoma and Mishicot. She enjoyed both flower and vegetable gardening, and loved canning pickles.
Survivors include one brother, many nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, and two special nieces. In addition to her parents and her husband she was also preceded in death by her brothers and sisters-in-law: Tom and Dorothy Kakes, Emil Kakes, Edward and Loretta Kakes, John and Evelyn Kakes, William and Helen Kakes, Daniel and Grace Kakes, Matthew, Ben, and Raymond Kakes: three sisters and brothers-in-law: Rose and Peter Steinberg Sr., Anna and Walter Fakundiny, Marcella and John Lensmeyer.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 25, at St. Isidore the Farmer, Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Tisch Mills with the Reverend Dennis Drury officiating and assisted by Deacon Robert Pribek, with burial to follow in the Tisch Mills Public Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call after 10 a.m. on Monday at the church, until the time of service at 11 a.m. There will be no Sunday evening visitation.
Lucille's family would like to express a very special thank you to the entire staff of the Hamilton Care Center of Two Rivers for the special care given to Lucille during her illness, and to all of her neighbors for the years of
assistance helping her with anything she needed help with. Your kindness will always be remembered.
The Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home of Mishicot is assisting Lucille's family with funeral arrangements.
