Phillip H. Lay, 53, native and lifelong resident of Jacksonville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on June 30, 2012.

He was the son of the late Hilton E. Lay and Carolyn(Isaacs) Lay who survives. A graduate of Wolfson high school class of 1976. Phillip was an avid hunter and fisherman, he delighted in sharing his catch with family and friends. He loved the casino. A strong believer in volunteerism, he served as a committee chairman for the boy scouts for many years.

Surviving in addition to his mother are two children, Christina N. Lay and Phillip PJ Lay, Jr., two siblings, Connie L. Hicks and Mark H. Lay, two grandchildren, Kylie and Kayla Lay and nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Visitation will be Friday, July 6 from 6 8 pm at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 4115 Hendricks Ave., Jacksonville, FL.

The funeral will be Saturday, July 7 at 10:30 am at Lakewood United Methodist Church, 6133 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32217. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.
