Obituary, from 1903: "DIED - Mrs. Cottrill-Templeman, at the hospital in St. Louis, Mo., on May 10th, aged 75 years, 3 months, 14 days. Her remains were received at McGregor [Iowa] last Thursday, May 14th by Robt. St. John, as she had requested to have her last sad rites at her sister's home that she loved so well. The funeral occurred at 10 o'clock a. m. last Friday, Rev. Dutton officiating. She was laid to rest in the Giard cemetery by the side of her mother and other loved ones. The flowers for this sad occasion were of the most beautiful, and deftly prepared by dear friends. John Cottrill was unable to attend his mother's funeral on account of not getting notice of it in time, although every effort was made by his friends here to reach him.
She has fallen asleep; she is resting at last,
The pulse has grown still, and her grief is all past
