Mr. Rushing was born in Claxton, Ga.
He served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1967 to 1969 where his exposure to Agent Orange was the major factor in his cancer struggle.
Mr. Rushing is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Cheryl Lynn Lott Rushing, who faithfully stood by his side during his two-year struggle.
He is also survived by two sons, who were the lights of his life, Wayne C. Rushing Jr. and Wesley C. Rushing, both of Prairieville; daughter-in-law whom he cherished, Rannie Rushing; his father, Calvin Rushing of Claxton; a brother, numerous nieces and nephews, and many loving friends. Preceded in death by his mother, Vera Rushing.
