Kittie Margaret Henry was born on February 29, 1876 in St. Charles, Missouri. Her father was Leander Thayer Henry and her mother was Sarah Margaret (Maggie) Miller. Her mother, Sarah, passed away when Kittie was only 2 years old. Her father married Sarah's sister, Adeline Virginia (Addie) Miller soon after. Leander had 11 children.....Kittie was his third child. Kittie married William Modessett Magruder on January 31, 1906 at the age of 30. Kittie and William had one child during their marriage. Their daughter, Audrey Miller, was born on August 30, 1909 in Tonkawa, Oklahoma. Kittie's stepmother, Adeline, passed away on June 26, 1918 in Eolia, Missouri, at the age of 60. Her father, Leander Thayer, passed away on August 13, 1919 in Eolia, Missouri, at the age of 75. Kittie lived in Springfield, Missouri until her husband, William, passed away on July 27, 1939 at the age of 77. They had been married for 33 years. After William's death, Kittie moved to Fresno, California to live with her daughter, Audrey. Kittie lived with her daughter until she died on May 6, 1952 when she was 76 years old. She is buried at Eastlawn Cemetery with her husband, William Magruder, in Springfield, Missouri.
