Nora (Crouse/Slack) Austin, 73, wife of James L. Austin 1411 Bloomingrove Road, died in her home at 8.25p.m.Monday Oct. 14, 1963. A native of Williamsport, she was the daughter of Lewis and Martha (Irwin) Crouse. She was a member of the Wesley Methodist Church. Surviving besides her husband are a brother, Ralph E. Crouse, of this city, and two sisters, Mrs. Russell Dorman, of Endicott, NY, and Mrs. Albert C. Durrwachter of this city. The funeral will be held at 1:30p.m. Thursday at Sanders, 821 Diamond St. with her Pastor, the Rev. Henry Hopkins officiating. Burial will be at West Wildwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
27yrs after the death of her 1st husband Lewis Slack, Nora married her 2nd husband Jim Austin, a lifelong friend of both Nora and Lewis. She married at the Pine St. Methodist Episcpal parsonage, Williamsport.
