Susanna Elizabeth Miller was born in Wiota, Wisconsin, September 17, 1849 and passed away Sunday, April 19 1936.
She was the daughter of Jacob and Sarah Miller. There was thirteen brothers and sisters of which only two remain: Demp Miller of Arlington and Mrs John Kinniburgh of Waterloo.
She was married in Argyle Wisconsin May 30 1870 to William Powell. To this union one son, Charles Henry, who passed away December 21 1935. In July of 1882 the family moved to Arlington where they have lived ever since. Mrs Powell was a loving mother and a true and faithful wife. Her departure leaves a vacancy that can never be filled.
She was baptized into the Church of Christ January, 1893 by D L Dunkelberger and while her health was strong she was a loyal and faithful member. For forty years she was a member of the Royal Neighbors, lodge 252 of Arlington being a charter member of this lodge.
Mr and Mrs Powell were for 66 years husband and wife. The bond that tied them together can never be broken because the memory of her kindness and love will ever be present.
She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, William Powell; one brother, Demp Miller of Arlington; one sister, Mrs John Kinniburgh of Waterloo; three grandchildren, Forest B, Mark D and Arlie Deters of Arlington; 5 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild, and many other relatives and friends.

We wish to express our thanks for all the sympathy expressed in so many ways in the loss or our dearly beloved wife and grandmother. We thank and greatly appreciated the respect shown us by the business men who closed their places of business during the funeral. We also wish to extend our thanks for any service rendered in laying our loved one to rest.
