Ormo Johnson Blakemore, born February 20, 1889 at Clyde, Arkansas, died June 22, 1963 at Stilwell, Oklahoma. Baptized at Zion Methodist Church in 1953 by Rev. Gordon Spencer.
Noted by Ruby Geneva (Blakemore) West: Ormo's mother died when he was 7 years old. Ormo had to go live with his grandfather and grandmother, Jesse Lee and Eliza Jane (Wheeler) Blakemore. He stayed with them for about a year, and wanted to go home so bad that he ran off back to his Dad's home, about 10 miles away. They said if he wanted to stay home that bad he could.
While he lived at his grandparents home during the winter, he touched his tongue to an iron post and it stuck.

ORMO BLAKEMORE DIES IN HOSPITAL
Funeral services for Ormo Blakemore were held Sunday, June 23 in the Roberts Funeral Home chapel, with burial in the Stilwell cemetery.
Blakemore, who was born February 20, 1889 in Clyde, Arkansas, died Saturday, June 22 in the Stilwell Municipal hospital.
Survivors include: the widow, Mrs Dora Blakemore of the home; two daughters, Mrs Geneva West and Mrs Mae Jean Johnson, both of Stilwell; two sons, Roy of Spain, and J. W. of Fort Worth, Texas, one sister, Mrs Mary Crozier of Stilwell; and three brothers, Ray and Clarence, both of Stilwell, and Jim of Tahlequah.
