SOUTH FULTON, Tenn. -- William E. "Mutt" Boyd, 89, of South Fulton, formerly of Pontiac, Mich., died at 8:55 a.m. Tuesday at Parkway Regional Hospital in Fulton, Ky.

A native of Graves County, Ky., Mr. Boyd was a retired punch press operator for General Motors in Pontiac and was a former truck driver for Holland Brothers Trucking Company in Wingo, Ky.

Surviving are one daughter, Margaret Lawrence of Fulton; two sons, John Wayne Boyd of South Fulton and Scott Charles Boyd of Mayfield, Ky.; two stepdaughters, Zadonna Rial of Greenfield and Ranice Jane Charlton of Wingo; one stepson, Phillip Eugene Shelton of Union City; two sisters, Lillian Turner of Van Buren, Ark., and Margaret Ruth Lawson of Pleasant View, Texas; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; six stepgrandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Hattie Lou Boyd; two brothers; and one sister. His parents were Alta Morgan and Huie P. Boyd.


Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel in Fulton with the Revs. Ron Cox and Danny Potts officiating. Burial will be in Cuba Cemetery in Cuba, Ky.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today and until the service hour Thursday at the funeral home.
