Charles H. Reeves Once Had Control of Hercules Interests.

Charles H. Reeves, 86, at one time the owner of a controlling interest in the Hercules mine in the Coeur d' Alenes, died last night at his home, E1917 Fifth avenue. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. tomorrow at the Hazen & Jaeger chapel, with the Knights Templar in charge. Interment will be in Riverside Park cemetery.

Mr. Reeves was a barber in Wallace 38 years ago and held a major portion of the Hercules control when the mine was just a prospect. He disposed of most of his holdings too soon, but retained enough to secure a comparatively large fortune. At one time he was the owner of extensive property in Spokane.

Mr. Reeves was a member of Reno post, G.A.R. and the Consistory and Shrine. He was a well-known figure in the early life of both the Coeur d'Alene mining country and of Spokane. When Mrs. Reeves died last July, she and Mr. Reeves had celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.

He is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Ella Woodcock, Mrs. Elizabeth Stewart and Miss Josephine Reeves, Spokane; Mrs. Carrie Harper, Coeur d'Alene; Mrs. Sidro Taylor, New York; four sons L. C. and A. E. Reeves, Spokane; J. A. and H. H. Reeves in California, and 16 grandchildren
