On February 13, 1931, in Hellertown, he married Irene Ruth Bachman, daughter of John Rentzheimer Bachman and Mary Louisa Ruth. They were the parents of 3 children, one of whom is my mother. Obituary for Myron D. Parsons from the Allentown Morning Call of January 4, 1998:

"MYRON D. PARSONS, 88, EX-HELLERTOWN CHIEF BURGESS, COUNCILMAN. Myron D. Parsons, 88, of Lutheran Manor, 2085 Westgate Drive, Bethlehem, a former chief burgess of Hellertown, died Friday, January 2, in Muhlenberg Hospital Center. He was the husband of the late Irene R. (Bachman) Parsons. He was chief burgess of Hellertown, 1950-51, and previously a three-term borough councilman. In a 1992 interview, he told The Morning Call that little had changed in Hellertown, particularly the goal of keeping taxes down. 'No matter how you operate, you must have taxes, and that's a nasty word,' he said. Parsons was a potato farmer for many years in the Hellertown and Lower Saucon Township areas. He was also an attendance officer for Liberty High School in the Bethlehem Area School District for many years until 1986. From 1933 through the 1950's, he reconciled bank accounts in the treasury department of the Bethlehem Steel Corp. Together with his wife, he owned and operated the Modern Merchandise Mart hardware store, Allentown. Born in Berwick, Luzerne County, he was a son of the late Harry E. and Jennie L. (Schobert) Parsons. He was a deacon on the consistory of First United Church of Christ, Hellertown. He was past president of the Hellertown Democratic Club. Parsons was Hellertown district commissioner for five local Boy Scout troops and the first committee chairman for Troop 19 in 1935. He was a Noble Grand with the International Order of Odd Fellows Lodge, Hellertown, and a member of the Men of Muhlenberg. He was a past secretary of the Hellertown Sportsman's Association.
