Douglas Hale Bewley, 73, of Dallas, Texas, died Monday at 9 p. m. at Anderson Hospital after five weeks illness.
Born in Elberton, Ga, he was a son of the late W. D. and Emma Whiteside Bewley.
He was a salesman for 35 years traveling throughout the southwestern states.
A veteran of World War I and World War II he served in France with an ambulance company during the first World War, attended Oxford University in England then served in the second World War.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, a Mason, a Shriner and a member of Hejaz where he was very active.
Survivors : three sisters, Mrs. William W. Goforth, Staunton, Va., Mrs. Fred W. Felkel, Mrs. Theo L. Burriss, both of Anderson; a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers: Chad W. Burriss, Dr. Mack Burriss, Fred W. Felkel, Jr., Arthur Holman, William B. Kuttz, Bewley Goforth.
The family is at the home of a sister, Mrs. Theo Burriss, on Clemson Highway.
