August N. Schewe, 87, died Tuesday at St. Joseph Nursing Home at Ladysmith, Wis.

Born Feb. 24, 1879 in Slinger, Wis., he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. August Schewe Sr. Mr. Schewe married Kathryn Forkin on Sept. 29, 1914 in Chilton. His wife died in Dec. 31, 1928.

A former cashier in the Chilton National Bank, he went to Merrill, Wis., and was associated with the Merrill Candy Co. Mr. Schewe also formed the Lincoln County Finance Co and had his own insurance business, called the Schewe Insurance Co. He was a member of St. Robert’s Catholic Church.

Survivors are one brother, Henry G., Wauwatosa; one sister, Mrs. E. C. Molly Lang, Glenview, Ill.; nieces and nephews.
His wife, two brothers and two sisters also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be at St. Roberts Catholic Church in Merrill. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, (sic), Chilton.
