My great-great-grandfather Lanty Filmore Ervine was born on July 13, 1878 in Warm Springs, Virginia to James Milton Ervine (1845-1906) and his wife, the former Mary Catherine McCarty (1852-1901). He was their second son and third child, following brother James Lee (1871-1957) and sister Ivy Florence (1877-1954).
