Clifton Ezell Chappell
1929-2006

Cliff passed away on Friday, August 18, 2006 after a valiant one-year battle with non-small cell lung cancer.
He was born to the late Pearl Emma (McDowell) and Euell Chappell on March 27, 1929 in Piggott, AR.

Cliff and Gwen were married April 3, 1953.
Cliff is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Gwendolyn Joy (Foley) Chappell; his son, Monte Ezell Chappell and wife Kimberly Chaudron; his daughter, Lavonda Marchelle Harrison and husband, David; his grandchildren, Jeremy Clifton Busbee, Christopher Ezell Chappell and Amanda Joy Chappell; his step grandchildren, Ryan, Ben, Jennifer and Jon; step-great-grandchildren, Alisa, Brandon, Tristen and Alden; his sister, Marguerite Penrod of St. Charles, MO; his wife's brother, Jimmy Foley and his wife's sister, Sue Patterson and husband, Doug, who he all loved as his own; sister-in-law, Esyleta Chappell of Boone, KY; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Euell, Juanita, Rex, Mildred and Thomas.

Cliff was a 20 year veteran of the U.S. Air Force, spent 11 years with Johnson Motor Lines and an additional 11 years with NADEP before retiring.

Cliff was a dedicated husband and an awesome father and Gramps. He loved to strum his guitar and wrote many songs to honor his family and friends. He had a wonderful sense of humor and always had a story to tell. He touched many lives, was always willing to help others and never met a stranger.

Funeral services for Cliff will be at 2:00 p.pm, Tuesday August 22, 2006 at Farm Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. John Kuritz Officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Monte Chappell, Lavonda Harrison, David Harrison, Jeremy Busbee, Chris Chappell and Mandi Chappell. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Foley, Doug Patterson, Claude Cooper, Bailey Hankins, Scott Foley and Danny Cain.

Faith Chapel Funeral Home North, Cantonment is directing.

The family will receive friends at Faith Chapel North on Monday August 21, 2006 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
