Douglas Dawson, 75, passed away on January 31, 2022. Doug was born and raised in New Rochelle, NY. He graduated SUNY New Paltz with a BA in English. After graduation he enlisted in the US Air Force and served in the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge he moved to Staten Island, NY where he graduated CUNY Richmond with a MS in Secondary Education and worked for the US Postal Service, most recently, as an arbitrator. Doug retired to Vestal, NY. He was an avid attendee of flea markets and auctions, collector of 45 records and film noir movies, and fan of the NY Football Giants and NY Mets. He loved his family and would jump at any chance to travel to visit them whether it was in Arizona, Virginia, or New Jersey.

Doug is predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Dawson, and daughter, Kerrie Black. He is survived by his son, John Dawson, grandson, Brendan Dawson, and granddaughter, Aurora Black, and sister, Jacqueline Denike.

Doug's life will be celebrated from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM, Monday, February 7, 2022 at the DeMunn Funeral Home, 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton. Interment will follow services in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. To forward condolences please visit demunn.com.
