Kathleen Krebs Crowe
September 22, 1934 – June 29, 2012
Kathleen Krebs Crowe, of Pascagoula, passed away at Singing River Hospital on Friday, June 29, 2012, of complications from Alzheimer's Disease. She was born on September 22, 1934 in Birmingham, Alabama, to Lois Thompson and Miller Martin Krebs, who preceded her in death along with three sisters and two brothers.
Kathy was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Pascagoula, where she was active in the Daughters of the King organization until her illness. She was a member of the Colonial Dames of the 17th Century. Kathy was a nurse by trade who worked for many years for Dr. Baumhauer, Dr. Donald, Dr. Groff, and Dr. Jack Hoover with Gulf Coast OB GYN.
Kathy is survived by her husband of 59 years, Eldridge Lee Crowe, Jr; two daughters and two sons, Lessley (John) Grunigen, Mobile, AL; Lee (Barbara) Crowe, Long Beach, MS; Caroline (Wayne) Boykin, Wade, MS, and Miller Crowe, Dallas, TX; four grandchildren, Sarah (Michael) Turbe, Huntsville, AL; Elizabeth (Joshua) Blackburn, Mobile, AL; Joshua Crowe, Los Angeles, VA; and Benjamin Boykin, Pascagoula. She is survived by a great granddaughter, Hannah Ruth Turbe, and expected great grandson, John Wyatt Blackburn. Also survived by a sister, Grace Key, of Birmingham, AL; and two sister-in-laws, Jo Krebs, Auburn, AL and Peggy Krebs, Avon Park, FL, along with a host nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff of Ground North East at Singing River Hospital and Hospice of Light for their care and love given to Kathy during her final struggle.
A celebration of Kathy's life will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2012, at 11:00am, at St. John's Episcopal Church in Pascagoula. Friends may visit with her family from 10:00am-11:00am in the Church Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Daughters of the King c/o St. John's Episcopal Church.
