Bernard F. Ott, 86, of 9 Village Road, a retired traffic manager for American Writing Paper Division of Linweave Corp., died Thursday in a South Hadley nursing home. He worked for the company for more than 30 years, and had attended a traffic college in New York City for two years. Born in Newark, N.J., he attended schools there and moved to Holyoke 50 years ago. He was a member of the Holyoke Chamber of Commerce Traffic Division, a life member of the New York Traffic Club, and a practitioner of the Interstate Commerce Commission. In 1982, he was honored by Princeton University when the Bernard F. Ott Transportation Collection was established with his donations of personal property. He was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church. His wife, the former Genevieve Turner, died in 1985. He leaves two sons, Bernard F. Jr. of Springfield and Matthew J. of Florida; two daughters, Claire Rigali of South Hadley and Margaret M. Ott of Chicopee; a sister, Madeline O'Brien of Short Hills, N.J.; 21 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
