She met her husband, George W. Thomas Jr., in 1940. He went to war in 1942 serving in the US Army, and Elisabeth attended Baylor University. Upon George's return, they were married on December 1, 1945. Elisabeth briefly worked at Kelly Field, and spent 35 years working at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as a Business Office Service Representative and later as a Relief Observer of other Reps. She was a member of Telephone Pioneers and Communication Workers of America.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers: Roland and Raymond Baylor.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years: George W. Thomas Jr., daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Fred Rooney; Sister and Brother-in-Law: Betty and Bill Gotthardt; Sister-in-Laws: Sally and Joan Baylor and Zula May Gill. Grandchildren: Shannon and Mike Twining and Randy Smith; Great Grand children: Kaitlyn Smith and Thomas Twining, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
