She was an active and longtime member of Wornall Road Baptist Church. She attended the University of Oklahoma at Norman and taught school until she married David Wesley Proctor in 1925. She helped organize Baptist Hospital Auxiliary and volunteered in their gift shop for many years. She was a member of the Browning Society, President of the PTA at J.C. Nichols Elementary School, was a voluntee r in the gift shop at John Knox Village, was a member of the Golden Fun Band and the Federated Garden Clubs. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Wesley Proctor, in 1970.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Lou Beard, and husband, Bill, Hermann, MO; three grandchildren, Patricia Beard Love, and husband, Philip, Nancy Beard Van Hoozer, and husband, Tom, and Melinda Beard Mesler and husband, Scott; and six great-grandchildren.
