Hickox - Mrs. Laveta Rozier Crews Manor, 96 of Hickox, passed away Tuesday (December 8, 2015) at her residence following an extended illness. Born in Hickox, GA., her parents were Volley Ellison Rozier and Loutisha Hickox Rozier.

She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Cager Crews; her second husband, Stevenson Manor; a son and daughter-in-law, Benny Crews and Brenda Morgan Crews; two grandsons, James E. Johns and Brian Ramer; a son-in-law, Dan Ramer; two brothers, Volleny Rozier and Payton Rozier; three sisters, Elsie Ussery, Julia Smith, and Ellav Crews.

Mrs. Laveta was a member of Riverside Chapel Baptist Church for 45 years. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and loved by everyone who knew her. Mrs. Laveta loved cooking, word searches, reading, gardening, and was a member of the Senior Citizens Center who she enjoyed going out to eat with. She was a retired nutritionist from Brantley County School System.

Survivors include her four children and their spouses, Judy and Rev. Ion Johns, of Hickox, Bonnie and Darrell Simmons, of Orlando, FL., Emmie Lou and Ray Griffin, of Hickox, Rev. E.C. and Carolyn Crews, of Hickox; thirteen grandchildren, Kevin and Denise Johns, of Waynesville, Martha and Kerry Mathie, of Raybon, Angela and Jason Rewis, of Hortense, Victoria and Lawrence Blaine, of Orlando, FL., Crystal Ramer, of Orlando, FL., Jessica Simmons, also of Orlando, FL., Darren and Clarissa Crews, of Hickox, Emory Crews, of Hortense, Camille Harris, of Raybon, Loucindy and Ray Gurley, of Salisbury, N.C., Michelle and Jamie Rainey, of Hickox, Charity and Shannon Flowers, of Hortense, Chad and Mandy Crews, of Hickox; 29 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held Friday evening (December 11, 2015) from 6PM-8PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday morning (December 12, 2015) at 11AM at Riverside Chapel Baptist Church wi th Rev. Randy Wainright and Rev. Edward Colley officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Kevin Johns, Darren Crews, Emory Crews, Chad Crews, Blake Johns, and Jamie Rainey. Honorary pallbearers will be men of Riverside Chapel Baptist Church, the staff of Heartland Hospice of Jesup, and grandsons.
