He served our country in World War II, in the European Theater from April 13, 1944 to Jan. 31, 1946, as a combat engineer. As a retired construction worker in 1978 he moved to Fall River and enjoyed 26 years of hunting, fishing, dancing, singing, gardening and playing his fiddle, along with his beloved wife of 39 years. Together they made many friends and enjoyed every moment of their time together. As a member of VFW Post #2712 in Eureka, KS he performed such duties as marching in many parades and was a member of the Honor Guard. He also was a member of the Kansas Oldtime Fiddlin' Pickin' and Singers. He participated in the Golden Age Dance Group and devoted many hours playing the violin and singing for the senior center.
