ROGER LEE CUMMINGS
Funeral services for Roger L. Cummings, 43, of 3308 South Duff St. Ames, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. Charles Smith officiating. Burial will be in Graceland.
Mr. Cummings died early Thursday morning, Oct. 18 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines following surgery.
Roger Lee Cummings, son of George and Ida Balcom Cummings, was born Feb. 19, 1941 at Owasa, Iowa. He started elementary school there, later moving with his family to the Lehigh area. He was graduated from the Burnside high school in 1960.
He was married Feb. 19 1961 at Webster City to Barbara Bergeson and the couple lived in the Webster City-Duncombe area. He was then employed at the Franklin Mgf. Co.
For the past several years the family had resided at Ames where he had been engaged in the construction business and in trucking.
He is survived by his wife; two sons and two daughters, Kathy Cummings of Des Moines, Keith Cummings of Cedar Rapids, Kevin Cummings of Ames and Kristine of Boone; two granddaughters, Jennifer and Cassandra Cummings, Cedar Rapids; four sister, Rosella Cummings, Springfield, MO., Mrs. Ray (Barbara) Howard, Whitier, Calif., Mrs. Vito (Betty) Adragna of Belleflower, Calif., Mrs. Gary (Georgia) Vrchotisky, Glendale, Calif.; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three half-brothers, Charles Walton, Arnold Walton and Ivan Walton.
