Salome Neubert, daughter of Robert J. and Amanda Neubert, was born in Hardin county, Ohio, on March 9, 1874*, and died at their home on April 8, 1912*, at the age of 37 years and 24 days.
On Feb. 15, 1905, she was united in marriage to Jesse Shilling. This union was blessed with one daughter, Mary Elizabeth. She early showed a love for the Sabbath school, and was a faithful attendant. Later she taught a class for a number of years and took a great interest in her pupils. She was a member of the choir, and never failed to be in her place, until within the last few years. Her character was above reproach. She possessed many good qualities, was naturally of a sunny and cheerful disposition. She was a kind and devoted neighbor, never failing to visit those who were sick. She was a devoted wife and loving mother.
During her last illness she was a great sufferer yet she battled bravely against leaving her house which promised so much to her in future years.
She leaves to mourn their loss a faithful and loving husband, a dear little girl who was the pride of their home; four brothers, three sisters and a host of relatives. Her death came as a giant shock to the community, and she will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
The funeral was held a the home, near Alger, on April 5, at 10 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. J. F. Newcomb. Interment was made in Woodlawn cemetery. THE ADA RECORD obituary, Ada, Oh., Wed., 10 Apr. 1912 A.D.
