Evening Times, Cumberland, Maryland, Sat 13 Mar 1937: "Frostburg, March 13 - Mrs Catherine Condry Brophy, 83, widow of John S. Brophy, former coal operator of this city, died at St. Agnes Hospital yesterday at 7 p.m. after being in ill health for sometime. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Mae O'Donnell, widow of Dr. Thomas A. O'Donnell, and two grandsons; John and Thomas O'Donnell, Baltimore. She was sister of Martin Condry this city. The body will be brought to Frostburg, Sunday evening, to the Condry residence, 5 Frost Avenue. Mrs. Brophy was well known in this city, where she resided until October 1932 when she moved to Baltimore. The funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 a. m. from the Condry home with requiem mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Michael's cemetery."
