Charles was the son of Will and Christina Thilges. He married Irene L Mosser.

OBITUARY - Charles W. Thilges, 82, died Wednesday, Aug 22 2001, in the Humboldt County Hospital at Humboldt. Funeral Mass for him was celebrated by the Rev. Daniel Greving at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Livermore. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery at St. Joe, the Harris Funeral home of Livermore in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Jason, Brian, Matthew, Adam, Benjamin, Brandon, Joshua and Cory Thilges. Honorary bearers were Monica Thilges, Erica Thilges, Jennifer Fowler, Melody Thilges, Brooke Thilges, Courtney Thilges, Nicole Holst and Morgan Holst.

Charles William, son of William and Chrisina Etringer Thilges, was born Oct. 9, 1918, at St. Joseph Iowa where he was raised and received his education. He was married to Irene Mosser Nov. 25, 1947, at Durant, OK. After their marriage, the couple lived and farmed in the Livermore area their entire married lives. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a former member of the Livermore Lions Club.

Charles is survived by his wife, Irene and children, Harlan and Joan Thilges, Fairmont, MN; David and Raejean Thilges, Bode; Kevin and Gwen Thilges, Dakota City; Terry and Kari Thilges, Livermore; Colleen and David Holst, Clare; Stephen and Shelli Thilges, Humboldt; and Deanna Thilges of Humboldt. There are 16 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Brothers and sisters who survive include; Malinda Huberty of Emmetsburg, Alvina Ernst, Whittemore; Martha Mosser, Durant, OK; Martin Thilges, Aurora, CO; William Thilges, Bode and Ivalou Stalzer of Livermore.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Larry Dean and Delbert; his parents, sisters, Laurena and Hilda; and brothers, Albert and Raphael.
