Cecil Fain McCurley

The funeral for Cecil Fain McCurley, 70, of Decatur will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Greenbrier Baptist Church with the Rev. Rickey Lowery officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Madison City Cemetery.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the church.

Mr. McCurley died July 2, 2007, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Nov. 7, 1926, in Limestone County to Robert Alfred and Ida Rebecca Sturdivant McCurley. Mr. McCurley was the retired owner of McCurley Office Supply and Printing of Hartselle. He was a veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Harry B. McCurley of Tanner; and two sisters, Lila Mae McCurley Mitchell of Athens and Anne McCurley Price of Huntsville.

He is survived by two daughters, Kayce McCurley Bell and husband Billy Jack of Hartselle and their daughter Chandler of Kennesaw, Ga.; and Deirdre "DD" McCurley Ellis and husband Donald of New Orleans; one son, Mark Emerson and wife Cam of Somerville and their sons Brandon Emerson and Seth Emerson; one brother, Robert F. McCurley and wife Bea of Hartselle; one sister, Pauline McCurley Hatfield of Huntsville; one sister-in-law, Ruby McCurley of Tanner; and several nieces and nephews, cherished cousins and many friends.

Pallbearers will be Steve Hatfield, Terry Hatfield, Gene Marsh, Steve McCurley, Tim McCurley and Allen Phillips.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley or to the American Heart Association.
