Leonard D. Carncross, 58, of Clare, died Wednesday, July 8 in the Clare Nursing Home.
He was born December 30, 1922 In Sheridan Township, the son of Arthur and Aura (Blystone) Carncross.
He married the former Frances Musser in 1943 In Clare. Mr. Carncross lived all his life in Clare worked at the Seiter Brothers Lumber until ill health made him retire.
He is survived by his wife, Frances; a son, Donald of Clare; 2 daughters, Mrs. Edward (Elaine) Archey of Clare and Miss Lori Carncross at home, 6 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Evert of Clare and Wayne of Clare. ‘One sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 11 at 2:00 p.m. in The Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home with Rev. Gilbert Miller officiating. Burial was in Cherry Grove Cemetery in Clare. (The Clare Sentinel, p. 7 - Clare, MI - 15 July 1981)
