Lorraine Evelyn Gottschalk, 88, of Angola and formerly of California Township in Branch County, Mich., died Monday, June 8, 2009, at Northern Lakes Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Angola.
Mrs. Gottschalk was a homemaker and a devoted mother.
She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening, fishing and spending time with her family.
She was born May 29, 1921, in Kinderhook Township in Branch County, Mich., to Bert and Audrey (Spade) Allen. She married Alton C. Gottschalk on June 30, 1941, in Defiance, Ohio. He preceded her in death on September 6, 1994.
Surviving are two daughters, Patsy and Larry Dunham of Angola and Peggy Sellers of Elkhart; seven grandchildren, Dan and Maribeth Sellers, LeAnn and Bobby Boots, Jim and Dawn Sellers, Vince and Tiffany Dunham, Julie Dunham, Ross Dunham and Dana Dunham; and nine great-grandchildren, Rich and John Sellers, Robby and Brady Boots, Justin and Mytchell Sellers, Trey Aldrich and Drew and Danielle Dunham.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Ilo
Kowatch and Ruth Gottschalk; and a brother, Clifton Allen.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 11, 2009, at Beams Funeral Home in Fremont with Tim Stiller officiating. Burial will be in Knauss Cemetery in Kinderhook Township, Coldwater, Mich..
