WILLIAM TEMPLETON
Again we are called upon to record the death of an old citizen. William C. Templeton died at Creston July 27th, and was brought here Monday evening last on the 6:07 train, and buried in the cemetery at this place. His mourning relatives and friends, together with the Masonic fraternity, of which he was an old and much esteemed member, met the corpse at the depot and escorted it to its final resting place. Mr. Templeton was born in Pennsylvania in 1803, from thence he moved to Wayne County, Ohio. In 1845 he came to Jefferson County, where he has lived until within the past two years. He had lived at Creston, with his daughter, Mrs. Johnson, at whose house he died in the faith of the Presbyterian church.
