HOWARD, Doris J. Age 74 of Waynesville passed away Thurs. Jan. 31, 2008 at Atrium Medical Center. She is a member of the Cornerstone Church of God in Lebanon but of late attended the Waynesville First Baptist Church. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her family, reading her Bible and Guideposts that her sister Opal would send to her, church activities, and crossword puzzles. She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Isadora Roberts. She is survived by her husband Garner, married 51 years; son Jerry Howard of Waynesville; daughter Barbara Jean Howard of Waynesville; four grandchildren Amie, Anthony, Stacy, and Alisha; eight great grandchildren Victoria, Steven, Eamon, Edward, James, Alexis, Toni, and Ryan Jerry; three brothers Kenny (Nora) of Sabina, Harry D. (Jackie) of Oregonia, and Raymond (Hazel) Roberts of Harveysburg; and three sisters Opal Hauser of Oregonia, Ginny Campbell of Lebanon, and Margaret (Dan) Pennington of Lebanon. Funeral services were 2 PM Mon. Feb. 4 at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, Waynesville. Bishop Orville Robinson officiated. Burial Miami Cemetery, Corwin. The family received friends 2-4 PM Sun. at the funeral home. In these last few years, her health precluded her attending church regularly but she remained a devout woman of prayer.
