Mrs. Cockrell was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She enjoyed quilting and sewing. Her view was to always have an open door for friends and family. She was very devoted to her church and family. She enjoyed reading her Bible and was a member of Church On The Rock Church in Daingerfield, TX.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Bobbie Raines of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Louise and Billy Cole of Hughes Springs; daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Tommy Robertson of Lone Star; daughter, Betty Allen of Lone Star; daughter-in-law, Shirley Peden of Flint; brothers, David Ferguson of Crosby and Jimmy Ferguson of Flint; half-sisters, Wanda Peters, Imagene Oliver, Judy and Rachel; 23 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charlie Raines; sons, Earshel Peden, John Raines and Tommy Raines; brother, John W. Ferguson; grandsons, Donald Cole, Gary Peden and David Sullivan.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Raines, Stephen Cole, Charles Raines, Robert Raines, J. L. Cole, Robert Cole and Nick Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be Victor Pubon, David Martines, Jr. and Kevin Raines.
Services for Mrs. Cockrell will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2012 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Scott Darby officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at Gipson Funeral Home. Services have been placed in the trust of Gipson Funeral Home
