Arnold Herman Vee, 78, Alexandria, died June 17, 2005.
Arnold was born June 5, 1927 to Oscar and Annie (Olson) Vee. He was born on the family farm in Holmes City Township near Lake Olaf. He was baptized and confirmed at the Farwell parish.
Arnold lived at home with his parents for several years before moving to Farwell. Following Oscar's death, Arnold and his mother moved to Lowry, where Arnold lived until Annie's death. In 1976 he moved to the Glenwood Retirement Home where he lived until 1996. Arnold then moved to the James and Louella Salmons residence in Alexandria. Moving to a family environment was good for Arnold; the Salmons family was very good to Arnold in his last years.
Arnold was a quiet person. He enjoyed working with threshing machines when he was young. Later he attended school through the DAC and helped to make rugs and crafts. He enjoyed participating in Special Olympics and bowling.
Arnold is survived by his brother, Elvin (Clarice) Vee of Spokane, Washington; nieces, Elaine Josephson of Clitherall, Donna (Bob) Majerus of Villard, and Yvonne (Cal) Edwards of Spokane; nephews, Leroy (Rochelle) Gulbranson of Farwell, Dennis (Barb) Gulbranson of Garfield, Orris (Chris) Gulbranson of Lowry, Ron Vee of Spokane; and his special family, Jim and Louella Salmons of Alexandria.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Myrtle Gulbranson; nephew, Arley Vee; several aunts and uncles.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 22 at 5 p.m. at the Van Loon Cemetery near Holmes City. The Rev. Curt Larson will officiate. Honorary pallbearers include all of Arnold's nieces and nephews. Arrangements are with Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria.
