Luis Carrion, 80, of Lorain, passed away Wednesday June 27, 2012 at the Ames Family Hospice Center in Westlake, following a lengthy illness. He was born in Luquillo Puerto Rico on November 21, 1931 and had been a resident of Lorain for the past 6 years. Luis had worked as a foreman in Queens New York. He Proudly served his Country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Luis enjoyed playing dominos, and spending time with the Seniors at El Centro, and with his family.
Survivors include his children, Norma Lan of West Palm Beach Florida, Hector Luis Carrion of St. Cloud Florida, and Joe Santana of Elyria, 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, several brothers and sisters, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia, son, Ruben Carrion, parents, Luis and Amparo Carrion and by several brothers and sisters.
Friends may call Monday July 2, 2012 from 10 AM until the time of the services at 11 AM at the House of Praise International Church, 4321 Elyria Ave. Lorain. Pastor Iris Rosado will officiate. Burial with Full Military Honors provided by the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 20 of Lorain, will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
Arrangements are being handled by Wyers Funeral Chapel of Sheffield Township.
