Founder of Modena Missouri and was the first postmaster of Modena. George was also the Doctor in Modena for two years before for an illness caused him to retire as such. He then became a Reverend and traveled state of Missouri teaching the Bible. George died a pauper in a Mercer County poor house and was buried the Mercer County paupers Cemetery. His wife Harriett Vanderford and some of their children are buried in the Brummett Cemetery.
