EVAN MANDRY, AGE 81, PIONEER MINER, DIES

GLOUSTER--Evan Mandry, a pioneer coal miner of the Sunday Creek Valley, died Friday about noon in Cleveland, in which city he had made his home for the past 10 years. He was a native of Wales and came to this county when a young man 20 years of age. He was employed at Mine 10, Derthick, when the mine was first opened about half a century ago.

Mr. Mandry was 81 years of age and is survived by three sons, George and David, of Canton; Edward, of Youngstown; and three daughters, Mrs. James Moody, of Lancaster; Mrs. Edith Gail, of Columbus; and Mrs. David Cook, of this city. His wife died 21 years ago when the family home was in this city.

Mr. Mandry's body was brought to a local mortuary Saturday. Funeral services will be held at the Hollister Church Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock in charge of the Rev. David P. Morris, pastor of the Church of Christ, this city. Burial will be made in the Hollister Cemetery.
