Funeral services for Mary Elizabeth "MAC" Russell Proctor, 90, of Marshall, will be 10 a.m. Monday, July 2, 2012, at the chapel of Downs Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ron Segers officiating. Interment will follow in Algoma North Cemetery. Mrs. Proctor passed away June 29, 2012, in Marshall.
Mac was born August 8, 1921, in Morton, Texas, to John David Copeland and Frances Elizabeth Wells Cope­land. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church and was election judge for Harrison County for 12 years. She worked as a seamstress for Blue Buckle and Imperial Redding for 17 years, retiring in 1954.
She is survived by her husband, Frank Proctor of Marshall; sisters, Nadine Reid of Longview and Opal Fagg and husband, Clyde, of Talco Texas; brother, Neal Copeland and wife, Jean, of Harleton, stepson, Don Proctor and wife, Marcia, of Blacksburg Va.; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends; and Victory Baptist, Fairview Baptist and Belair Baptist families.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; first husband, Roscoe David Russell; sister, Bell Wilson; brothers, Lester Copeland, George Robert Copeland, William Travis Copeland and Buddy Copeland, and stepson, Johnny Proctor.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. today, July 1, 2012, at the funeral home.
