Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Sweet Street Baptist Church in Tahoka, where she was a member. Burial will be in Terrace Cemetery in Post.
Mrs. Carpenter was born in Clay County, Ala.
She moved with her family to Texas and attended school in Close City.
She married Clarence W. Carpenter in Post in 1927. He died in 1958.
Mrs. Carpenter moved to Lynn County from Post in 1976.
Survivors: Three sons, Donald Carpenter of Fort Worth, Gene L. Carpenter of Slaton and Jackie Carpenter of Azle; two daughters, Melba Mahon of Lubbock and Eddie Lockaby of Tahoka; one brother, Lynn Browning of Brownfield; 19 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
